The Israel Conference™ featured an array of over 60 CEOs speaking about their companies and representing over $200B in revenues and investment capital. This second annual conference for Israel-facing companies took place on Thursday, June 3, 2010 in Los Angeles at the Luxe Hotel. Over 60% of the 700 business people at this full day conference were Chief Executives and Managing Directors.

The business attendees at The Israel Conference™ were from industries of software, advertising, gaming, mobile, digital delivery, communications, e-commerce, clean tech, medical tech, consumer products, as well as finance. Over 24% of the executives were from Technology companies, over 18% from Media and Entertainment companies, over 21% from VCs, Private Equity, Investors, and Banks, 16% were advisors to businesses, 6% from consumer products companies, 4% from the medical industry, and the remaining 11% were from the press and radio, education, and government.

The Israel Conference™ expanded during this second annual conference by brining senior executives together from across the U.S., Canada, Europe, Asia, and Israel. This full-day event showcased early-stage through publicly traded Israel-facing companies to highlight excellence, innovation, and creativity in bringing new products and services to the global market, providing a window to the immense business opportunities with each of the companies.

The Israel Conference™ is co-chaired by Yossi Vardi who is considered the Godfather of Israeli High-Tech who brought instant messaging to the world scene and by Sharona Justman, managing director of STEP Strategy Advisors, an acquisitions advisory firm in Los Angeles and Tel Aviv.

The Israel Conference™ generated in-depth discussions across multiple panel sessions. The Solar and Clean Tech panel featured Chairman and Founder of BrightSource Energy Arnold Goldman, President and CEO of Capstone Turbine Darren Jamison, Co-Founder and Former CEO of HelioFocus Ory Zik, Director of Alternative Power for Southern California Edison Mike Marelli, moderated by David Nahai, former CEO and General Manager of the LADWP. The Powerful Brands panel was an animated discussion with the CEO of Delta Galil Industries Isaac Dabah and Yes To Inc.’s Co-Founders and Chief Carrot Lover Ido Leffler and Chief Carrot Counter Lance Kalish along with Shamrock Holdings’ Igal Litovsky, moderated by Guthy-Renker’s EVP of Marketing Glenn Eisen.

The Disruptive Mobile panel opened an exciting dialogue with Marvell Technology Co-Founder Weili Dai, NTT DoCoMo USA President and CEO Masaeki Maeda, Qualcomm VP Technology Noam Ziv, and BlackBerry Partners Fund Partner Marc Faucher, moderated by Levi Shapiro of TMT Strategic Advisors. The Medical Wonders panel had a lively debate with Compugen Chairman Martin Gerstel, Visionsense CEO and Founder Avi Yaron, and Gideon Informatics CEO Uri Blackman moderated by Isabel Maxwell, President Emerita of CommTouch. The Digital Delivery panel was a picture into the future with discussion from RayV Founder Ori Birnbaum, Catch Media CEO and Founder Yaacov Ben-Yaacov, AMIMON Chairman and CEO Yoav Nissan-Cohen, Taboola CEO Adam Singolda, and DirecTV Senior Director for Multimedia David Schlacht, moderated by Evergreen Venture Capital Managing Partner Erez Shachar. The Advertising Around the World panel was a global view lead by Google President of Global Sales Operations Nikesh Arora with interesting discussion between Amobee CEO Zohar Levkovitz, Peer39 CEO and Founder Amiad Solomon, Innovid Media CEO and Co-Founder Zvika Netter, and attracTV CEO and Co-Founder Tzahi Sofer.

A fireside chat with Yossi Vardi, Moshe Lichtman of Microsoft, Heather Harde of TechCrunch, and Sequoia Capital Israel Partner Randy Ditzler was a highlight with discussion on trends of the future.

The animated discussions continued outside of the room where the intense networking lasted from 7:30am through 8:30pm involving dialogue on business and joint ventures. Enhancing the day was full servings of Tnuva cheeses, Osem snacks, and Teperberg 1870 Wines.

A feature of The Israel Conference™ is the dynamic Fast & Cool™ presentations moderated by Canaan Partners General Partner Izhar Shay that featured Kryon Systems, WorldMate, TuneWiki, WinBuyer, Pythagoras Solar, Snapily, and Wix. Participants were able to learn about exciting technologies through speedy and focused hands-on presentations.

An expansion of the event was The Pavilion of Companies with each CEO introduced throughout the day by Eran Wagner, President of North American Operations of cVidya Networks. This highly effective trade-show element was busy throughout the day with attendees meeting directly with company representatives to receive personalized demonstrations of each company’s technology, products, and services.
